MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore outfielder Kaitlyn Carlson signed a national letter of intent Wednesday to play softball at Upper Iowa University.
Carlson, who is from Lake In the Hills, Ill., hit .301 (40 of 133) with seven doubles ane one triple in her freshman season in 2018. She also drove in 30 runs and stole 23 bases.
“I chose Upper Iowa because it’s a small school and love the environment there,” Carlson said.
Upper Iowa was 20-24 overall and 7-17 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Confernce in the 2018 season.
“That conference is one of the best conferences around,” Carlson said. “I can’t wait to get there and compete and get better as an athlete.”
