MASON CITY – The NIACC women’s soccer team dropped a 4-2 decision to Iowa Lakes on Wednesday in a nonconference contest.
NIACC and Iowa Lakes were tied 1-1 at the half but the Lakers scored two goals in the second half to claim the victory.
Sophomore Jessica Altman scored the Lady Trojans’ goal in the first half on a header on corner kick from Rose Priestly.
Sophomore Rylie Smith scored NIACC’s goal in the second half on an assist from Altman.
NIACC (2-2 overall) returns to action at home on Saturday in its ICCAC opener against Hawkeye CC. Match time is slated to start at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, the NIACC men’s soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Iowa Lakes Wednesday in a nonconference contest.
Iowa Lakes led 3-0 at the half and the teams played a scoreless second half.
NIACC (1-3 overall) returns to action Saturday at home against Hawkeye CC in its ICCAC opener. Match time is slated for 4 p.m. at the NIACC pitch
