Northern Iowa woman jailed after allegedly running down bicyclist intentionally

SPENCER, IOWA – A Northern Iowa woman was jailed on a felony charge after allegedly running down bicyclist intentionally then beating her near a Walmart.

On September 5th, 2018 the Spencer Police Department arrested 44-year-old Wendy Willard of Spencer. Willard was charged with Willful Injury (class D felony), Assault while participating in a felony (class D felony) and Assault with a dangerous weapon (aggravated misdemeanor). The arrests stem from an investigation into an incident where Willard allegedly struck a bicyclist intentionally with her motor vehicle and then physically assaulted her near WalMart on August 30th.

Willard was booked into the Clay County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
