NIACC set to compete at NJCAA national track and field meet

EL DORADO, Kan. – The NIACC men’s track and field team will compete in the NJCAA Division I meet on Thursday and Friday.

The Trojans will compete in two events on Thursday and one event on Friday.

On Thursday, NIACC will run in the 4×100-meter relay at 5:45 p.m. The Trojans will run Timothi McMaster, Kyle Younker, Kalen Eastman and Deionte Ganzy.

The foursome set the school record in the 4×100 (41.97) at the regional meet in Council Bluffs on May 5.

Also Thursday, the Trojans’ Brian Jacques and Blake Keller will run in the 10,000-meter run at 7:50 p.m.

Jacques’ personal best in the 10K was 32:53.20 on April 21 at Grinnell’s Dick Young Invite. Keller clocked a personal-best of 33:01.06 also at the Dick Young Invitational.

On Friday, the Trojan foursome of Younker, David Carter, Ethan Klasi and Scott Hengesteg will compete in the 4×400-meter relay prelims.

The Trojans placed third at the regional meet in the 4×400 (3:23.93).

For the NIACC women, Jaylynn Scrivner will run in the 400-meter hurdles at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Scrivner placed second at the regional meet with a personal-best time of 1:05.13.
