MESA, Ariz. – NIACC’s Courtney Tusler shot a second round 54-51 – 105 at the NJCAA Division I national golf tournament Tuesday at the Longbow Golf Course.

After two rounds, Tusler has a two-round score of 99-105 – 204.

“It was another difficult driving day (Tuesday) for Courtney,” NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, “and because of that she really put herself in tough spots.

“If you’re not in the fairway, you’re in the desert and potentially in the brush or vegetation that grows in the desert. Those types of lies don’t lend themselves to good scoring opportunities.”

On Monday, Tusler shot 51-48 – 99.

“She still has a good attitude toward the tournament,” Frenz said, “and she’s determined to get herself into the 80s.”

Last season at the national tournament in Georgia, Tusler placed 90th with a 92-93-94-96 – 375.

The third and fourth rounds of the national tournament are set for Wednesday and Thursday.
