Summer Feeding Program for kids offered in Mason City

MASON CITY – Mason City Community Schools is participating again in the Summer Food Service Program and kids can get free rides to the event locations.

Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times as follows:

YMCA- 1840 S Monroe Ave- starting June 4th- Aug 24th- Mon- Fri 11:30-12:00 noon

Rhythm Church- 21 8th St SE-starting June 4th- Aug 24th- Mon- Fri 11:45-12:15 pm

MC Park & Rec -326 4th St NE-starting June 6th- Aug 24th- Mon- Fri 12:00-12:30 pm No meals will be served: July 4th & 5th

Roosevelt Elementary- 313 15th St NE- starting June18th-June 30th- 11:50-12:20 pm

Mason City Public Transit also announced a partnership with the Mason City Community School District for Summer 2018. Some children may be hindered by a lack of transportation to and from the lunch locations. The Mason City Public Transit will be providing FREE rides to children 18 and under all summer long from 10:00am–2:00pm, Monday through Friday, so children can take advantage of this opportunity. All three locations are either on or within two blocks of Mason City Transit routes.
