Gov. Reynolds orders independent review of Iowa Finance Authority

Jamison – FIRED

DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered an independent review of the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) on Friday of the reports of sexual harassment by former IFA Executive Director David Jamison.

Des Moines attorney Mark Weinhardt will head the investigation and will submit a report to the Governor’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office. Weinhardt was selected by the Governor’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office to investigate the conduct that led to Jamison’s firing and any similar incidents or conduct during his tenure as executive director. Weinhardt has also been tasked with investigating what was known at IFA about these matters and the appropriateness of the response to them.

“Since the victims reported these horrible allegations, their safety and privacy have been my top priority,” Gov. Reynolds said. “Now that one of the victims has made the decision to release the specific details of the harassment, I am ordering an independent review of David Jamison’s conduct and what was known about it.”

David D. Jamison was fired from his job this past March.  He was named Executive Director of the Iowa Finance Authority in January of 2011. Prior to his current appointment he served as Story County, Iowa Treasurer from 1995-2010.  He is a Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of Iowa State University, where he received a BBA in Management. Reportedly, his salary was over $131,000 a year.
