Fire causes heavy damage to Estherville garage

ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – Heavy damage due to a fire was reported over the weekend in Estehrville.

Shortly after 11:45 AM on Saturday, February 24, the Estherville Fire Department was paged out to a garage fire at 802 North 9th Street in Estherville.

According to Fire Chief Dick Beaver, upon arrival, firefighters opened the garage and extinguished the fire. The garage was severely damaged on the inside.
Beaver says the cause of the fire is undetermined at this point. The garage is owned by David Coons.

Firefighters were on scene for about two hours.

The Estherville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Wallingford Fire Department, Estherville Police Department and Estherville Ambulance.

    Lots of problems in Esterville. A lot of Minnesota imports there.
