WATERLOO – A Charles City man already facing robbery charges is now behind bars after an alleged attempt to run people over with a luxury vehicle.
Police were called early Sunday morning to a Waterloo residence to deal with a parking complaint. Allegedly, 27-ywear-old Grace Nzundu of Charles City refused to move his white Mercedes. He fled the area and returned, only to nearly strike a person at the scene. Police pursued, and Nzundu was stopped and searched. Illegal drugs were allegedly discovered. He was arrested on charges of illegal prescription drug possession, driving while barred and assault with a deadly weapon. He remains in the Black Hawk county jail on $4,000 bond, awaiting a hearing set for February 28.
Nzundu was arrested for third-degree robbery on January 30 in Charles City. Nzundu had been arrested two days prior (January 28) in Waterloo for driving while barred and running a stop sign. He was released from jail January 29 and is due to be arraigned March 20.
