Osage woman on probation for neglecting dependent persons faces drug and theft charges

OSAGE – An Osage woman on probation for neglect of dependent persons is facing drug an theft charges after two recent arrests – and could face a prison term.

Osage police were called to investigate a theft that occurred on January 27, 2018. As a result, 58-year-old Debra Jean Ihrig of Osage was arrested o February 2 on a charge of fifth-degree theft.

Days later, on February 7, Ihrig was arrested by Osage police for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession.

Ihrig remains on probation for a crime she committed back on 2014. She was arrested by Cerro Gordo deputies on April 6th, 2014 after she abandoned the residents that she was hired to supervise at Country Meadow Place Assisted Living, located at 17396 Kingbird Avenue in Mason City. Later, however, Ihrig was given a deferred judgement, four years of probation, and a suspended one year jail sentence on a felony C charge of neglect or abandonment, as well os other lenient penalties for other crimes. She was guilty in August of last year of violating her probation. She was given an additional 4 years of probation and a suspended 10-year prison sentence.
