Off-Roading in North Iowa – Why a Jeep Grand Cherokee Is the SUV of Choice

No matter what time of year it happens to be, off-roading is one adventure enjoyed by people of all ages and from all walks of life. In fact, since midsize SUVs are the most popular vehicles in the United States at the moment, an increasing number of drivers are taking to the back roads and off roads in rural settings to release some of that pent-up energy from stress on the job. In North Iowa, as well as around the entire nation, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most popular SUV which lends itself well to the off-road experience for a number of reasons.

What Drivers Love About Jeep Grand Cherokee for Off-Road Driving

As the first ever vehicle with a Unibody Chassis, Jeep is as safe as it gets if and when a collision occurs. Not only does the Unibody design provide more interior room for passengers when on long road trips, but the all-in-one piece body and frame make for better protection in a collision from literally any direction. The only complaint some drivers have is Jeep’s tendency to need a new driver’s seat bracket and repair kit. This is especially a concern with the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee drivers seat. However, aftermarket repair kits are inexpensive and a perfect DIY fix, so don’t despair just yet!

The Perfect All-Weather Vehicle

While off-roading is a favorite weekend sport for Jeep Grand Cherokee owners, one thing of particular interest is the fact that this is the epitome of all-weather vehicles. What is most remarkable would be the four-wheel or All-Wheel drive that makes maneuvering on bumpy, icy, or snowy terrain as easy as driving down a country road on a mid-summer day. In icy conditions, there’s almost no getting stuck with either Jeep’s AWD or 4WD, so off-roading can be enjoyed in any weather except times of heavy snow.

Enjoy Your Weekend and Bring the Family Along!

If you look at what consumers are saying, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is outselling the competition for all the above reasons, and so many more. Now it’s time to take a look at where to take your new or used Jeep on an off-road weekend experience. If you must travel far from home, this is the perfect passenger vehicle for the entire family, so bring them along!

Book a room at a local motel, let the wife and kids lounge a bit while you try the off-road runs you’ll find scattered around the state. Some drivers bring the gang along, but some prefer to leave the little ones in the safety and comfort of a rented room just ‘in case.’ Whether you choose to explore the wilds or simply take an extended weekend with the family, there isn’t a better or more popular midsize SUV on the market.

As far as safety, dependability, and roominess are concerned, Jeep Grand Cherokee is the number one choice of SUVs for on and off-road driving.

My son had one and it would go through anything. A lot of maintenance cost though.

LOL, 99% of vehicles never go more “off road” than the WalMart parking lot.

That may be true but I love my Grand Cherokee year round, it is great for going anywhere and I do take it off road often, through mud and snow.
