MASON CITY – A felon formerly of the Twin Cities area who now calls Mason City home was caught with a gun and illegal drugs and arrested.
A Cerro Gordo county deputy stopped a vehicle near the 500 block of North Madison Avenue in Mason City on Friday morning, November 3 at about 2:37 AM. As a result of the stop and subsequent investigation, the driver, 38-year-old James Durel Brown of Mason City but formerly of Blaine, Minnesota, was discovered to a be a convicted felon, illegally carrying a gun and marijuana but not a driver’s license. He was arrested for no driver’s license, drug possession and felony possession of a firearm as a felon. The passenger, 37-year-old Alessandra Katie Stamps of Mason City, was arrested for drug paraphernalia possession and permitting an unauthorized person to drive. The vehicle was impounded.
Brown remains jailed, awaiting a court appearance. He was arrested on Wednesday morning, April 19, 2017, at 10:54 AM, when police officers pulled over a red Dodge Durango near Highway 122 and South Grover Avenue as they investigated check forgeries in town.
No one should be arrested for marajuana… The judicial system is such a damn joke…. When what they need to be worried about is the sicko rapists, child molsters, & murderers….
