Charles City man guilty of murder, jury says

CHARLES CITY – A jury says a Charles City man is guilty of murder after he shot and killed a Mason City man in June.

In July, the Chicago Police Department took 36-year-old Antoine Tyree Williams into custody on a warrant for first-degree murder issued from an incident which took place in Charles City on June 30, 2017 at 9:46 hours in the 2100 block of Clarkview Drive.

The victim in this homicide, killed by firearm, is identified as Nathaniel Fleming, age 36. His last address was in Mason City.

Williams entered a not-guilty plea in the case and stood trial before a jury this month. After deliberation, the jury found Williams guilty of second-degree murder.

Williams could be in prison for as long as 50 years once he is sentenced, and no less than 35 years.
