Britt woman hurt after she crashed her car in Cerro Gordo county

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A Britt woman was hurt in an auto crash Thursday in rural Cerro Gordo county.

On October 19, 2017 at approximately 4:58 PM, Cerro Gordo deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover with injuries. The vehicle, a silver 2003 Toyota Camry, was being driven by Catherine Foote, age 71 of Britt, traveling westbound on 140th and Yarrow Ave. An eyewitness states that the vehilce failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and continued westbound on 140th where it turns to gravel. Foote lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch flipping it onto the driver’s side. Foote was trapped in the vehicle until first responders were able to extracate her.

Foote was transported to Mercy ER by Mason City Fire with unknown injuries.

The investigation continues.

Assisting the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was Mason City Fire, Rockwell EMT’s and Rockwell PD.
