Out-of-town men armed with gun and meth caught at Mason City hotel

MASON CITY – Two men with a gun and meth were busted at a Mason City hotel Thursday afternoon, allegedly looking to deal their illegal substance.

Local law enforcement cornered 27-year-old Justin Ray Davey of West Des Moines and 41-year-old Spencer Ray Fitzpatrick of Knoxville Thursday around 5:13 PM at the Super 8 Hotel, 3010 4th Street SW in Mason City. After an investigation, Fitzpatrick was found to be wanted on warrants and was caught with methamphetamine. Davey was caught with meth and a handgun.

Both men are brought to the county jail. Fitzpatrick faces felony charges of possession of meth with intent to deliver, no tax stamp, and is held on the warrant as well. Davey was charged with felony charges of possession of meth with intent to deliver, no tax stamp, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
