MASON CITY – Three people were hospitalized after a two-car crash Saturday north of Mason City.
At 3:17 PM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Office was dispatched to the report of a two-vehicle injury accident at Orchid Avenue and 300th Street. A 2011 Ford Ranger driven by 17-year-old Matthew Ryan Arthur of Nora Springs was southbound on Highway 65 when a 2007 Toyota Canny driven by 54-year-old Karyl Marie O’Connor of Toeterville, Iowa pulled into his path at 300th St. from a stop sign. The vehicles collided. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Karyl O’Connor and a passenger in her vehicle Patrick Michael O’Connor, age 53 of St. Ansgar, were transported by Mason City Fire Medics to Mercy Medical Center North IA. Matthew Arthur was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. All are still being evaluated and the investigation into the accident continues.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Mason City Fire Department, Mason City Fire Medics, and Mason City Police Department.
