IOWA CITY – The Iowa City Police Department is investigating a reported home invasion and sexual assault that occurred on April 15, 2017.
Police sat the sole female occupant of a house in the Grant Wood neighborhood reported she was assaulted in her home by a male suspect in the early morning hours. At this time, the Iowa City Police Department is not releasing any additional information regarding the attack so as to not compromise the ongoing criminal investigation.
The crime appears to be a random attack by a suspect with no known ties to the victim. Iowa City residents, especially Grant Wood neighborhood residents, are encouraged by police to be vigilant.
A reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
