Former Iowa school employee faces 10 child porn charges

URBANDALE, IOWA – A man who worked for years at an Iowa school district is accused of multiple child porn counts and is behind bars.

On April 17, 2017, the Urbandale Police Department arrested Justin Logan Chugg, age 28, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Chugg is charged with 9 counts of Possession/Purchase of Depiction of Minor In Sex Act (aggravated misdemeanor) and one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor (D Felony).

On November 3, 2016, Urbandale Police Detectives received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The tip indicated that a subject was sharing child pornography with other users, via Skype.

Urbandale Police Detectives began investigating the case, and on February 17, 2017, executed a search warrant on Justin Chugg’s residence. Detectives seized several electronic devices, capable of accessing the Internet and Skype.

Chung remains in the Polk county jail; his bond is $250,000.

WHOTV.com reports that Chugg left his job with Urbandale, Iowa schools late in 2016 when it was suspected teens were drinking alcohol at his home and administrators asked him about it; he had been employed there since 2005.
