EAGLE GROVE, Iowa – A Sioux City man is accused of setting a house on fire in Wright County.

Firefighters responded to the blaze around 1:12 am Tuesday. When police arrived, they helped people inside the home as they jumped from second story windows. 11 people, including two police officers and one firefighter, were transported to surrounding hospitals for treatment of injuries ranging from smoke inhalation to severe burns.

The Eagle Grove Police Department and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating this matter. The Goldfield Fire Department helped at the scene, as well.
