PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
CITY OF MASON CITY, IOWA
The City of Mason City will be holding a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on March 15, 2022, at the MASON CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY, 225 2nd St. SE, Mason City. The hearing will focus on input regarding the submission of a CDBG-CV Housing Conversion Grant application to the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) for the development of residential apartments in an upper story of a downtown building located at 26-28 East State St., Mason City. The grant application is expected to be submitted by March 31, 2022 to the IEDA. You can participate by attending the Council Meeting at the Mason City Public Library, or virtually via Zoom (meeting agenda available on the city’s website at least 24 hours prior to the meeting), or phone in comments prior to 9:00 a.m. on the day of the Council Meeting at 641-421-3600, or complete a written comment form available at City Hall, 10 1st St. NW, Mason City, IA 50401.
No persons or businesses will be permanently displaced as a result of the project. The Mayor and City Council urge all interested parties to attend. Everyone will be invited to provide input. A representative from the North Iowa Area Council of Governments (NIACOG) will be available to respond to questions regarding the grant application. Please contact the City at (641) 421-3600 if you require special accommodations in order to attend the public hearing, such as handicapped accessibility or translation services.
