Business owners on the north end asking for real help. Offices vacant and overpriced rent. A bad downtown project that has serious flaws and could bankrupt MC. Judges letting sex offenders plea down. Sheriffs office jail were many have died.Band Festival Foundation giving money to ‘vote yes’ people. Councilman that shares confidential information with a reported from TV at Hy-vee. South Port that no one seems to think could be a great retirement village area. MCHS that has had multiple threats by students recently. Pot holes on the main streets getting worse. A population that is 62+ aged. Water bills going up again alongside property taxes. City and county positions seriously over paid. Band shell that sits empty due to you must be a non-profit to use due to historical stigma. A local newspaper that is so liberal it’s slanted. Local TV station that is not MC anymore but Rochester. Radio GM that puts her opinion out there on the downtown project. This goes on and on….WAKE UP MC AND TAKE OUT TOWN BACK.
While in the beauty shop Monday, getting my weekly do done, I overheard a beautician and customer in the next bay talking about Quick Trip possibly building on the whoozes car wash site. And, that Lowe’s might be interested in the Sears building. Any other information out there on the subjects.
Matt please investigate whether Mason City needs a city assessor office and whether it is a huge waste of thousands upon thousands of taxpayer dollars or not. Thank you.
