According to the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, August 13,Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jerod Michael Beier, 42, of Independence. Beier was arrested and charged with first offense Operating While Intoxicated (a serious misdemeanor). Beier was also cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
This arrest was made following a motor vehicle accident in the 3000 block of Brandon-Diagonal Blvd. According to the investigation, Beier was operating a 2010 Chevrolet HHR northbound on Brandon Diagonal Blvd when he lost control and entered the west ditch. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its side in a corn field. Beier sustained only minor injuries but did not require hospitaliztion. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Brandon Fire Department and Area Ambulance Service.
