BREMER COUNTY – A woman who police say is from Clear Lake has been caught thrice for drunk driving in recent weeks.
Heather Kay Gronewold, age 41 of Clear Lake, was first stopped and arrested in March of this year by Clear Lake police. She was charged with first offense operating while intoxicated, to which she pled guilty on July 14. She was sent to jail for 2 days and ordered to pay $1,863.50 in fines and court fees. Records show she has yet to make a payment.
Gronewold’s next brush with the law came on July 23 in Bremer county. The sheriff’s office there reported that on that day, Gronewold was stopped and arrested for second offense operating while intoxicated and driving while license revoked. She is now waiting for her court arraignment set for September 4.
Gronewold has not been idle, however, and according to court records, was was arrested on August 9 in Hardin county. She was once again charged with second offense operating while intoxicated. She was released from jail on the condition, court records show, that she obtain a substance abuse evaluation. She now awaits an August 25 arraignment in this case.
