MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man was left bloodied after he crashed his car on a residential street in Mason City late Friday night.
Mason City police were called to a single vehicle collision at Jersey Avenue and 8th Place SE at about 11:37 PM Friday night. At the scene, the driver, 39-year-old Brian Douglas Eppens of Clear Lake, had suffered apparent injuries. An investigation by officers led to the arrest of Eppens on a charge of second offense operating while intoxicated.
Eppens was jailed and later released, pending a court date. Records show Eppens was arrested by the Iowa State Patrol in 2004 for drunk driving in Cerro Gordo county. He later pled guilty.
