DES MOINES – The rhetoric on both sides of the aisle is heating up this campaign season, with a growing battle between Democrats and Republicans taking shape over the future of Planned Parenthood.
This month, Ernst delivered remarks on the Senate floor in support of a bill to prohibit federal funding of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She said her support of the bill comes “in the wake of gruesome footage depicting Planned Parenthood’s role in harvesting the organs of unborn babies.”
On Saturday, Ernst ramped up the fight with an editorial in the Des Moines Register, in which she defended her support of the legislation after again describing Planned Parenthood’s alleged role “in harvesting the organs of unborn babies. We have seen senior Planned Parenthood employees callously discussing ‘less crunchy’ techniques to harvest baby body parts, and watched as they negotiated over pricing.”
Ernst went on to say she’s been to war, and that “Planned Parenthood’s blatant disregard for human life is on full display” as she again described undercover videos that purportedly show Planned Parenthood executives attempt to broker deals involving harvested fetuses.
Following the publication of that editorial, the Iowa Democratic Party on Saturday said “we disagree with Senator Ernst 100%. Women should be able to make their own health care choices without interference from politicians. Senator Ernst’s bill to defund Planned Parenthood puts politics ahead of health care accessibility.”
The debate over Planned Parenthood and funding for it from the government has been a more and more consistent theme on the campaign trail in the burgeoning presidential election. Republicans are consistently lambasting the organization as Democrats come to its defense.
Efforts to defund Planned Parenthood on the national level failed in Congress but on a state level, Louisiana governor and candidate for President Bobby Jindal yanked funding. Some in Iowa are calling on Iowa Governor Terry Branstad to work toward that here.
How do you “debunk” a video with the audio that discusses how babies are aborted in a way to dissect and sell baby parts?
How do you watch and listen to a video that clearly shows the bartering of baby parts?
How can some of you have such a cold heart and no compassion for a living being, then decide the video is debunked?
To call truth a lie does not make it so. How backward can you get?

The videos, on which Ernst is basing this attack have been thoroughly debunked already.
Furthermore, several of the Republicans, who are screaming their outrage now, voted to fund research using fetal tissue in the past.
So the GOP did it’s quarterly little dance for their base and in the end they will have their ignorant base convinced.
The truly ignorant people are the ones that support killing babies and then selling the body parts. A baby is a person and should be treated as such. The videos have only been debunked by liberals, not by honest God loving people.
The lie was that Planned Parenthood was selling fetal tissue from abortions, which is illegal.
The video showed an interview with a doctor explaining how PP, with patient consent, donates fetal tissue to medical research for things like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
They edited all the stuff out about donation and disease and instead made it seem like she was selling fetal organs.
Don’t try and use facts with LVS, he’s completely impervious to them. Also the GOP loves babies while they’re still in the womb…once they’re born the GOP doesn’t care about them.
Democrats are all in favor of killing and butchering unborn babies but will not support killing America’s enemy’s.

Apparently they didn’t disagree with her enough to get out to the polls and vote for Bruce Braley.
