HENRY COUNTY, IOWA – A teen girl has reportedly been abducted in Iowa, and law enforcement is seeking clues to her whereabouts.
According to the Henry county sheriff’s office, at approximately 7:53 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 the Winfield police department and the Henry county sheriff’s office responded to a report of an abduction in the 300 block of South Olive Street in Winfield, Iowa. It was reported that 16-year-old Karyn Renee Mehaffy was abducted by three male subjects in a dark blue SUV, make and model of vehicle unknown.
Karen is described as 5’3″ tall, heavyset, died blonde hair with green-blue bangs, tan complexion and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing green skinny jeans and black sleeveless T-shirt possibly in the company of Wilfredo Martinez Gonzales, said to be a boyfriend.
Anyone with possible knowledge of her whereabouts is urged to contact law-enforcement immediately.
An Amber Alert was not issued apparently due to not meeting certain criteria.
So it was reported that she was abducted. What more criteria does one need? The alert should have been issued.
16 years old means she is still a child. What is wrong with these people? They had a chance to save this young girl and they didn’t do it because of her age. That really sucks.
Because of age no amber alert she was abducted for god shakes, shes still a child
Henry County Sheriff’s Office: “In regards to all the comments & remarks regarding the issuance of an Amber Alert, please be advised that it was attempted to issue an Amber Alert, but this case did not meet the criteria & an Amber Alert was declined. This case is still actively under investigation.”

It says under the age of 18
What criteria was not met?
Seems as if the girl was in a relationship with one(?) of the men who (took?) her and police are confused as to whether she went willingly or not. That’s what I gathered from the mother and others who are posting about this incident.
Does that really matter at her age? If they took a 16 year old anywhere they broke the law. She is still a child and should be protected.
