BRITT – Alcohol may have been a factor in a lone motorcycle crash early Saturday morning in Winnebago county.
According to the Iowa State Patrol 22-year-old Matt Swanson of Britt was on his 2011 Kawasaki VN1700 motorcycle traveling westbound on 17oth Street west of Rake Avenue Saturday at 2:27 AM when he left the road to the right and rolled into the ditch. Swanson was not wearing a helmet. The state patrol believes that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
Swanson was transported to Mercy Hospital in Mason City by helicopter with undisclosed injuries.
