MASON CITY – A young child wandered from home and made his way to the Cerro Gordo courthouse Monday.
A 7-year-old boy showed up at the courthouse, 220 North Washington Avenue, a few minutes before noon Monday and reported that he was home alone. A deputy called police, who responded to the scene.
The child’s information was taken and it was soon discovered that he lived about 7 blocks northwest of the courthouse. Mason City police made contact with the child’s parent and the two were reunited. No charges were filed in the incident.
