MASON CITY – A trial date has been set for a Mason City woman who was arrested after causing a disturbance at a grocery store.
Erin E. Hanson, age 31, was arrested on November 6, when police were called to Hy-Vee East at about 5:34 AM after Hanson was in the store with another woman causing a loud disturbance. A source told NIT that the women seemed to be intoxicated and were laughing loudly, bumping into things, and were suspected of trying to shoplift, prompting employees to call police. She was arrested on a number of charges, including fifth degree theft, public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of meth, possession of hydromorphone, and possession of hydrocodone, prompting the probation violation report.
On November 17, Hanson pled not guilty to all charges.
A jury trial date was set for January 27 on the drug charges. A pre-trial conference is planned for January 16.
A non-jury trial is scheduled for May 1, 2015 on the theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and public into charges.
