MASON CITY – A Hampton woman was caught stealing from Wal-Mart in Mason City and pled guilty.
Mason City police were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 4151 4th Street SW, on the afternoon of November 30. Loss prevention employees had a woman, 25-year-old Jessica Mae Torres, detained for shoplifting. After an investigation, officers arrested Torres and transported her to the county jail on a charge of fifth degree theft.
Torres pled guilty the next day and was ordered to pay $387.50 in fines and fees. She was placed on a payment plan.
Torres was also caught stealing in Marshall county in 2012 and pled guilty to fifth degree theft.
