MASON CITY – A woman was detained at the Hy-Vee West grocery store Saturday for stealing.
Employees at the Hy-Vee West grocery store, located at 2400 4th Street SW, called police at about noon to report that they had detained a woman for shoplifting, and she was compliant. Police arrived and questioned employees as to the circumstances. After the investigation, officers arrested 45-year-old Lori Ann Portis of Mason City.
Portis was charged with third degree theft, booked into jail, and released after posting bond. Portis has been charged with theft numerous times, along with various drug charges.
