CEDAR RAPIDS – A Mason City man who distributed child pornography pled guilty today in federal court in Cedar Rapids.
Jamison Miller, age 41, from Mason City, Iowa, was convicted of one count of distribution of child pornography.
At the plea hearing, Miller admitted that, between September 2012 and April 2013, he distributed child pornography. He also admitted that, in 2000, he was convicted of an offense relating to the possession of child pornography.
Sentencing before United States District Court Chief Judge Linda R. Reade will be set after a presentence report is prepared. Miller remains in custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. Miller faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of 40 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and supervised release for 5 years to life following his imprisonment.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark Tremmel and was investigated by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

With a sentence like that you would have thought he was caught selling drugs. Except a drug charge would have caused all his assets to be seized. Thank God all he did was distribute kiddy porn.
The real victims are the children used in the making of the child porn. They are lured away with promises, children of junkies and poor folks who need the money & sell their children, children of sick relationships that allow this to happen, kidnapped children, runaways that are promised food and shelter & get this instead. Children from foreign countries that are sex slaves & shipped here etc. more. Don’t say its just kiddie porn.. He needs to be in for life – don’t bend over 4…

Is this the same guy that was employed as a youth counselor at the YMCA? I know there was another young man that is on the sex offender registry that worked with kids there also. They kept it hidden from the public. My child was in summer day camp there at the time.

But than again your way is more time efficient than what I would like to see done to him. Here is my stance on kiddy porn. They say it is a disease, maybe it is maybe it isn’t.
