Mason City man in jail for skipping court; guilty of harassment

MASON CITY – A Mason City man is in jail Thursday for skipping court for the second time in connection with a charge of eluding police.

Nick Alan Moser, age 21, failed to appear in court for a pre-trial conference connected to a charge of eluding police. On March 24 at about 9:22 AM, Mason City police received a call from a citizen about a reckless driver. The caller gave specific information about the vehicle and location, and police converged on the area where the subject was driving. Officers located the vehicle and tried to pull the car over. The vehicle failed to pull over and drove for several blocks before stopping at a residence in the 1300 block of 2nd St NW. Moser was arrested when he got out of the car. This is the second time Moser has skipped court in connection with this case.

Moser is now scheduled to face a jury trial on July 15, 2014. He is being held on $2,000 cash-only bond.

On March 31, 2014, police went to the home of Nick Alan Moser to discuss a harassment case connected to a business at 2400 19th Street SW. Moser was found guilty of third degree harassment on May 28, 2014. A second harassment charge was dismissed. Moser was sentenced to two days in jail and assessed $111.65 in court costs and other fees.
