NIT – The percentage of Americans who think God created humans remains nearly the same as it was 30 years ago, but the percentage who think God was not involved is rising.
According to a Gallup poll released this week, more than four in 10 Americans continue to believe that God created humans in their present form 10,000 years ago, a view that has changed little over the past three decades. Half of Americans believe humans evolved, with the majority of these saying God guided the evolutionary process. However, the percentage who say God was not involved is climbing.
There is little indication of a sustained downward trend in the proportion of the U.S. population who hold a creationist view of human origins, Gallup found in questioning respondents last month. At the same time, the percentage of Americans (19%) who adhere to a strict secularist viewpoint – that humans evolved over time, with God having no part in this process – has doubled since 1999.
Those questioned who felt most strongly that God created humans in their present form 10,000 years ago were those who: attend church regularly (69%); have less than a high school education (57%) or were over the age of 65 (50%).
I love the last paragraph. the old, uneducated, brainwashed people are the ones that believe in god.

As I have stated before, I am not real religious, however, I do believe that something did all this and it doesn’t matter what you want to call the diety. If you want to call it God that is O.K. All religions point to something. It could have been Aliens but even they were created by something. I do believe that something did all this. It didn’t just happen. We all need to believe in something and I respect most religions. I do not respect Muslims as all they do is kill in the name of God.
