AMES – Police in Ames have announced tow more arrests connected to the riots of April 8 and 9 that ruined this year’s VEISHEA celebration.
As a part of an ongoing investigation into the disturbance of Tuesday, April 8, investigators from the Ames Police Department have charged the following individuals:
– Conor Welch, age 18 of Ames, Theft 5th degree, a simple misdemeanor
– Hunter Alexander, age 20 of Ames, Criminal Mischief, 2nd degree, a Class “D” Felony
Ames police were assisted in the investigation by the Iowa State University Police Department and the many tips provided by the public.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
