MASON CITY – This past weekend you could find Dennis Paulson and his two sons, Brice, age 10, and Brody, age 7, practicing their racing skills on the dirt (mud) track behind the Target Shopping Center at the North Iowa Events Center.
“We’re from Northwood and we’ve been out here about an hour. Right after it stopped raining,” said Dennis on Saturday afternoon.
Looking at the two ATV’s, driven by Dennis and Brice, and the motorcycle, driven by Brody, you’d think they they just had a mud bath.
“Yeah, we went through the mud. Brody wiped out in the middle of it,” said dad Dennis.
“I haven’t had much experience with this bike yet,” said Brody, defending himself and his driving skills. Brody is waiting for his new ATV to show up and practice with that soon.
Brice’s account of his experience practicing in the mud was, “it was muddy at first, until we got it all packed down, then it was fun.”
“We usually race with NCIMS, North Central Iowa Motocross Series. We go to Woolstock, Humbolt and Fort Dodge. We’re in the process of trying to get a track in Northwood, so we can add another town to the series. We hope to get riders from Minnesota to come down and race,” said Dennis.

Looks like fun… getting dirty with Dad! Hope they don’t venture too close to Clear Lake, King Laggios will want to shut them down too.
Nice to see a dad spending quality fun time with his kids. Looks like fun!
