Vote of “no confidence” for embattled county computer man presented to Supervisors

MASON CITY – Cerro Gordo County Auditor Ken Kline presented Tuesday a vote of no confidence from a steering committee to the Board of Supervisors regarding an embattled county employee accused of stalking and assault.

Mr. Kline brought a finding from the county’s MIS Steering Committee to the board regarding MIS Director Scott Tepner, who has been accused of domestic assault and stalking.  Mr. Tepner is on unpaid leave of absence from his job.

The steering committee also agreed to hire McGladrey to conduct a management and staff assessment and evaluation of the MIS Department.  Current personnel would be reviewed as well as future hiring needs.

The Board of Supervisors made no motion on the steering committee recommendations but agreed to take action at a future meeting.
