Thieves attempted to rob Great Clips but didn’t get away with much.

by Jody Spear and Kelly Meyer –

MASON CITY – A burglary report was taken Wednesday morning at Great Clips, located at 319 5th Street SW.

Manager Amanda Rose explained that her store was broken into sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

“When I got to work, the back door was shattered,” Rose said. “I entered the store and I saw that they had attempted to break into our safe.”

Apparently, the thieves didn’t get away with much of anything, and nothing else was reportedly taken.

“Just because you see people breaking into safes on TV doesn’t mean you are smart enough to open ours,” said Rose. “We are just happy that our safe did its job.”

If you have information on this incident, call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.
