Wanted man Martinez arrested in Mason City

Mason City police were still at the scene Monday morning after a domestic incident that started on Sunday.

MASON CITY – A wanted Mason City man who was considered armed and had a warrant placed on him since Sunday has been arrested.

Marcos Antonio Martinez, age 30, was arrested at 78 S. Georgia Avenue (Mason City Police Headquarters), Wednesday afternoon and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail at 2:25 PM.

A warrant was placed on Martinez for Assault/Domestic/Aggravated and False Imprisonment when the Mason City Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault in the 200 block of 9th Street SE, Sunday afternoon.
Sunday night, Mason City Police Officers, along with Iowa State Patrol and Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs and Mason City Ambulance were once again called to the same location.

Monday morning Mason City police officers were still investigating the incident and searching the area.

Martinez is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail and is waiting to see a judge.
