MASON CITY – Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 1st, Mason City police officers were called to Hy-Vee East on a report of a shoplifter. Police officers arrested Tiffany Etter, age 30, of 704 North Van Buren Ave., Mason City, on one count of theft in the 3rd degree ($500 to $1000).
Tiffany Etter was transported to the Cerro Gordo County jail, and released a few hours later pending further court proceedings.
Court records show Tiffany Etter had just entered into a probation agreement with the Iowa Department of Corrections four days prior after pleading guilty to another theft in the 3rd degree charge from May 25th, 2011 by Mason City police department.
In that case on August 29th in Cerro Gordo County District Court, Tiffany Etter pled guilty to the theft in the 3rd degree charge. Judge Carlynn Grupp sentenced Tiffany Etter to a two year suspended prison sentence, one year of probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections, a $625 fine, $343.75 surcharge, $181 in court costs, and $323.97 restitution to the victim.
