Mason City Police Officers Tiffany Creekmur, Charlie Connor, Lane Siefken and Ed Walthall were honored at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting for their bravery during a traffic accident on October 27, 2010 that claimed the life of a local teenager.
The courageous actions of Officers Creekmur, Connor, Siefken and Walthall on October 27, 2010 saved valuable time, about 8-10, minutes in freeing two teenagers from a car that was submerged in the Winnebago River. One teen, Colby Schmidtke, did not survive the accident.
