On December 11, 2010, Jennifer Collins, age 40, was arrested by Mason City Police. Collins fled on foot after an officer attempted to stop the vehicle she was in. Collins was apprehended in the 800 block of North Federal Ave. Brian Edmonds, age 43, was located and arrested a few hours later.
Collins’ initial arrest warrant was for three counts of forgery (class D felonies). Edmonds has been charged with 1 count of forgery (class D felony). Both were held for bond in the Cerro Gordo County Jail. Five additional counts of forgery have been filed on Collins.
The case remains under investigation. More charges may be pending. Victims from other jurisdictions are coming forward with thefts related to the stolen, forged checks.
