The Mason City Police Department is investigating several cases where checks were stolen and forged. The suspects are Jennifer Collins, age 40, of Mason City, and Brian Edmonds, age 43, of Mason City. There are several felony arrest warrants issued for both in connection with these crimes. Forgery is a class D felony and is punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mason City Police Department.
The checks that are being used are drawn from two accounts. One is from Kirby Co. of Mason City, and the other is from S.D. Magee and Associates. These checks are being written by these subjects to businesses in Mason City and the surrounding area. These incidents do not reflect on the businesses that the checks are drawn from, as they are a victim in this case.
