Dear Jonas,
Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only a boat that landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT
A couple things about this deranged letter. First, Norway, the country, has nothing to do with awarding the Nobel Peace Prize. Secondly, and neither of them is in Denmark.

‘Dillbert’ creator Scott Adams lost his fight with prostate cancer. Although he was known for his racist rants, support for Trump, as well as his last ditch plea for salvation, (after describing himself as an agnostic or atheist for much of his life,) let’s also not forget how his famed comic was dropped from several newspapers after he was quoted back in 2023 – “So I think it makes no sense whatsoever, as a white citizen of America, to try to help Black citizens anymore,”. I hope he’s having a great time down there, looking up at us with Mr. Kirk, Mr. Cheney, and Terry Gene Bollea.

From an actual lawyer… “There seems to be a lot of Keyboard attorneys online today. So, as an actual attorney, I’d like to cite actual law. The ICE officer in MN violated both protocol and case law. 1) officers are not allowed to fire into a moving vehicle 2) lethal force is not allowed to prevent someone from fleeing 3) case law is clear, an officer cannot intentionally place himself in front of a vehicle and then allege self defense At best, this officer acted with a reckless disregard for public safety and is guilty of negligent homicide. Federal agents do not have blanket immunity from state laws or criminal prosecution. They can be prosecuted by state authorities for violating state laws if their actions were unauthorized, unlawful, or unreasonable, even if they were on duty.
The concept governing this is called Supremacy Clause immunity. Federal agents are generally immune from state prosecution only if their actions were:
Authorized under federal law; and
“Necessary and proper” to fulfill their federal duties.
If a federal agent is charged in state court, they can petition to have their case “removed” to federal court. In federal court, the judge would then determine whether the agent’s actions met the “necessary and proper” standard. If the court finds the agent was acting within the reasonable confines of their duties, the state charges will be dismissed. If not, the state prosecution can proceed in federal court, applying state substantive law. It is unlikely any judge would find his behavior necessary and reasonable. The mere fact that no other officer present unholstered their weapon and appear shocked he fired towards them reinforces that fact.
Estate of Starks v. Enyart, 5 F.3d 230 (7th Cir. 1993)
Seventh Circuit – foundational caseFacts:
Officer stepped in front of a slowly moving vehicle and then shot the driver, claiming fear for his life.
Holding (paraphrased):
“An officer may not unreasonably create a physically threatening situation and then use deadly force to escape it.”
Adams v. Speers, 473 F.3d 989 (9th Cir. 2007) Ninth Circuit
Facts:
Officer jumped in front of a vehicle during a stop and then fired.
Holding:
An officer cannot provoke a confrontation and then rely on the danger they created to justify deadly force.
Key language:
The court emphasized that reasonableness includes the officer’s own tactical decisions leading up to the shooting.
Thompson v. Hubbard, 257 F.3d 896 (8th Cir. 2001)
Eighth Circuit
Key point:
The court rejected summary judgment for officers where evidence showed the officer moved into the vehicle’s path, creating the perceived threat.
Abraham v. Raso, 183 F.3d 279 (3d Cir. 1999)
Third Circuit
Facts:
Off-duty officer shot a fleeing driver.
Holding:
The court stressed that pre-seizure conduct matters and that officers cannot rely solely on the “split second” framing if their own actions escalated the situation.
Kirby v. Duva, 530 F.3d 475 (6th Cir. 2008)
Holding:
Deadly force may be unconstitutional where:
The officer fired into a moving vehicle
The officer could have stepped aside
The threat was self-created
The Sixth Circuit explicitly rejected the idea that a moving car automatically justifies gunfire.
Adams v. Speers, 473 F.3d 989 (9th Cir. 2007)
Holding:
An officer may not intentionally place himself in danger and then use deadly force to neutralize the danger he created — including firing into a vehicle.
The Ninth Circuit emphasized tactical disengagement as the constitutional expectation.
Training & Policy Alignment (Courts Care About This)
Many courts note that modern police training instructs:
Do not fire into moving vehicles
Do not use deadly force to stop a fleeing car
Disengage and contain instead
Courts treat violations of training as evidence of unreasonableness, even if not dispositive.

Beginning in 1943, the War Department published a series of pamphlets for U.S. Army personnel in the European theater of World War II. Titled Army Talks, the series was designed “to help [the personnel] become better-informed men and women and therefore better soldiers.”
On March 24, 1945, the topic for the week was “FASCISM!”
“You are away from home, separated from your families, no longer at a civilian job or at school and many of you are risking your very lives,” the pamphlet explained, “because of a thing called fascism.” But, the publication asked, what is fascism? “Fascism is not the easiest thing to identify and analyze,” it said, “nor, once in power, is it easy to destroy. It is important for our future and that of the world that as many of us as possible understand the causes and practices of fascism, in order to combat it.”
Fascism, the U.S. government document explained, “is government by the few and for the few. The objective is seizure and control of the economic, political, social, and cultural life of the state.” “The people run democratic governments, but fascist governments run the people.”
“The basic principles of democracy stand in the way of their desires; hence—democracy must go! Anyone who is not a member of their inner gang has to do what he’s told. They permit no civil liberties, no equality before the law.” “Fascism treats women as mere breeders. ‘Children, kitchen, and the church,’ was the Nazi slogan for women,” the pamphlet said.
Fascists “make their own rules and change them when they choose…. They maintain themselves in power by use of force combined with propaganda based on primitive ideas of ‘blood’ and ‘race,’ by skillful manipulation of fear and hate, and by false promise of security. The propaganda glorifies war and insists it is smart and ‘realistic’ to be pitiless and violent.”
Fascists understood that “the fundamental principle of democracy—faith in the common sense of the common people—was the direct opposite of the fascist principle of rule by the elite few,” it explained, “[s]o they fought democracy…. They played political, religious, social, and economic groups against each other and seized power while these groups struggled.”
Americans should not be fooled into thinking that fascism could not come to America, the pamphlet warned; after all, “[w]e once laughed Hitler off as a harmless little clown with a funny mustache.” And indeed, the U.S. had experienced “sorry instances of mob sadism, lynchings, vigilantism, terror, and suppression of civil liberties. We have had our hooded gangs, Black Legions, Silver Shirts, and racial and religious bigots. All of them, in the name of Americanism, have used undemocratic methods and doctrines which…can be properly identified as ‘fascist.’”
The War Department thought it was important for Americans to understand the tactics fascists would use to take power in the United States. They would try to gain power “under the guise of ‘super-patriotism’ and ‘super-Americanism.’” And they would use three techniques:
First, they would pit religious, racial, and economic groups against one another to break down national unity. Part of that effort to divide and conquer would be a “well-planned ‘hate campaign’ against minority races, religions, and other groups.”
Second, they would deny any need for international cooperation, because that would fly in the face of their insistence that their supporters were better than everyone else. “In place of international cooperation, the fascists seek to substitute a perverted sort of ultra-nationalism which tells their people that they are the only people in the world who count. With this goes hatred and suspicion toward the people of all other nations.”
Third, fascists would insist that “the world has but two choices—either fascism or communism, and they label as ‘communists’ everyone who refuses to support them.”
It is “vitally important” to learn to spot native fascists, the government said, “even though they adopt names and slogans with popular appeal, drape themselves with the American flag, and attempt to carry out their program in the name of the democracy they are trying to destroy.”
The only way to stop the rise of fascism in the United States, the document said, “is by making our democracy work and by actively cooperating to preserve world peace and security.” In the midst of the insecurity of the modern world, the hatred at the root of fascism “fulfills a triple mission.” By dividing people, it weakens democracy. “By getting men to hate rather than to think,” it prevents them “from seeking the real cause and a democratic solution to the problem.” By falsely promising prosperity, it lures people to embrace its security.
“Fascism thrives on indifference and ignorance,” it warned. Freedom requires “being alert and on guard against the infringement not only of our own freedom but the freedom of every American. If we permit discrimination, prejudice, or hate to rob anyone of his democratic rights, our own freedom and all democracy is threatened.”

BREAKING: House Judiciary Dems outwit Trump and release Jack Smith’s congressional deposition with DAMNING evidence of Trump’s criminal acts!
Blindsiding everyone, the 255-page transcript of Jack Smith’s testimony to Congress about his investigation into Donald Trump’s plot to steal the 2020 election hit the internet on New Year’s Eve, and it quickly became clear why Republicans fought so hard to keep it under wraps.
Smith testified that “Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 election and to prevent the lawful transfer of power.”
“Our investigation also developed powerful evidence that showed that President Trump willfully retained highly classified documents after he left office in January of 2021, storing them at his social club, including in a ballroom and a bathroom. He then repeatedly tried to obstruct justice to conceal his continued retention of those documents.”
Smith debunked the right-wing conspiracies about his investigation, swearing under oath that President Biden never gave him any instructions about the investigation and never even spoke to Biden about the investigation.
Most importantly of all, Smith demolished the fake narrative that Trump and his cronies have been pushing about what REALLY happened on January 6th…and pointed the finger squarely at Trump.
“January 6th was an attack on the structure of our democracy in which over 140 heroic law enforcement officers were assaulted. Over 160 individuals later pled guilty to assaulting police that day. Exploiting that violence, President Trump and his associates tried to call Members of Congress in furtherance of their criminal scheme, urging them to further delay certification of the 2020 election. I did not choose those Members, President Trump did”
“Pres. Trump was by a large measure the most culpable and most responsible person in this conspiracy. These crimes were committed for his benefit. The attack that happened at the Capitol, part of this case, does not happen without him.”
The fact that Donald Trump is President and not behind bars right now is one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in history.

Sunday night, “60 Minutes” was scheduled to run a segment sharing the stories of Venezuelan men deported by the Trump administration to what the program called a “brutal” prison in El Salvador.
It never aired.
The segment was pulled three hours before the broadcast — a highly unusual last-minute change — after Bari Weiss, the new right-wing editor in chief of CBS News, requested numerous changes to the segment.
CBS News said in a statement that the segment would air at a later date and “needed additional reporting.”
But Sharyn Alfonsi, the veteran “60 Minutes” correspondent who reported the segment, rejected that criticism in a private note to CBS colleagues, in which she accused CBS News of pulling the segment for “political” reasons.
“Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices,” Ms. Alfonsi wrote in the note, a copy of which was obtained by The New York Times. “It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now, after every rigorous internal check has been met, is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.”

The Minnesota Department of Human Services employee account on X — representing more than 480 current state workers — didn’t mince words.
“Tim Walz is 100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota,” they wrote. “We let Tim Walz know of fraud early on, hoping for a partnership in stopping fraud but no, we got the opposite response. Tim Walz systematically retaliated against whistleblowers using monitoring, threats, repression, and did his best to discredit fraud reports.”
Internal DHS employees claim Walz’s appointees “willfully disregarded rules and laws to keep fraud reports quiet” and threatened whistleblowers’ families.

Republicans Sell Out Iowa Farmers
Trump had two big promises for farmers this year and, unfortunately, both of them are turning out to be as hollow as his promises to turn profits at casinos and sell digital currencies. The first was that he’d be using a bunch of his tariff money to make whole any farmers who were negatively impacted by his trade war. But this past week, he announced just $11 billion in funding for that support. For those who remember 2018, that’s less than half of the $23 billion he authorized during his first round of trade wars. An economist with North Dakota State University estimated that farmers will lose between $35 billion and $43 billion over his trade war this year alone, so you can do the math on whether that’s actually making them whole. And, of course, it really pales in comparison to the $40 billion in assistance that he pledged to his friends in Argentina just a few weeks ago.
His second whopper was that his Treasury Secretary (and self-declared soybean farmer) Scott Bessent and team had forged a new agreement with China for them to start buying American soybeans again. Trump promised that China would buy 12 million metric tons of our soybeans by the end of December. As of this week, they’ve bought less than 3 million tons. When asked about the discrepancy, team Trump said that the 12 million tons would be purchased by the end of the 2025 growing season. When asked when that would be, they replied that they defined it as the end of February 2026. Even assuming that China buys the full 12 million (which isn’t a great bet), that’s still far less than the 26.8 million metric tons they bought from us in 2024.
For anyone who has been outside our metro bubbles, you’d know that Iowans have been bearing the brunt of this all year. Donnelle Eller had an eye-opening summary in the Register that’s more than worth the read (link in the comments below). She noted that Iowa farmers filed the second-largest number of bankruptcies in the nation in the first half of this year. Iowa State University’s hotline for farmers struggling with financial and mental health challenges reported that they received three times as many calls this September when compared to September 2024. A farm mediation service said they were helping with 40% more cases this year compared to last. An agricultural mediation specialist was startled by how many farmers were talking about committing suicide. He noted, “just in the last month, I’ve had three people say the only way they see a way out” is to pay off their debts “through their insurance proceeds.”
All of this is a perfect storm for Iowa farmers. The Register found that Iowa farmers are expected to see a 24% decline in farm income in 2026. The American Bankers Association surveyed 450 agricultural lenders and found that only 48% thought farmers would turn a profit across the Corn Belt next year. The costs of farm equipment are hitting record-highs and the manufacturers of farm implements are shutting factories across the Midwest. A staggering number of farmers over 70 are finding that younger folks in their family are skeptical of a future in farming and thus taking over the operations. A sizable number of Iowa farmers get their health insurance from the Affordable Care Act, with premiums set to double or even triple after Republicans refused to extend the existing subsidies for it.
To add insult to injury, our House Dems team was combing through the Republican DOGE report for Iowa and noticed that they proposed several cuts, including the potential defunding for 4-H programs in Iowa. We pointed it out, Iowa Republicans forcefully pushed back and said none of it was true. We offered citations and asked them to prove us wrong. So far, we’ve only heard crickets. For a party who claims they center their attentions on Iowa farmers, they sure have a funny way of showing it.

He will threaten them with lawsuits (paid for by taxpayers) against them that will drag on in the courts until it costs the networks millions of dollars in legal fees even if they win the lawsuit.
The USPS update will see prices rise 6.6 percent for Priority Mail service, 5.1 percent for Priority Mail Express service, 7.8 percent for USPS Ground Advantage and 6.0 percent for Parcel Select.
The new rates were selected to keep the Postal Service competitive while providing the organization with needed revenue, according to the USPS.
Raise rates to be competitive?

Three more days until the DOJ has to release the Epstein files. Expect the administration to come up with some distraction before then. Wonder who will be the distraction.
Go to truth social and see what the child in the White House said about a person who just was murdered. Seems to me a few months ago people were being fired for saying less offensive things about Charlie Kirk.
Drip, drip, drip: A newly-declassified timeline exposes how the FBI’s investigation of the Clinton Foundation was hamstrung by DOJ leaders while the inquiry into Trump-Russia collusion hoax marched forward. This isn’t the first tranche of evidence pointing to political interference.
Funny how more keeps coming every day.
John Morgan, a longtime Democratic donor who was a top Biden bundler, said he won’t give “a penny” to the library, citing poor treatment from Biden staff: “He’ll be lucky to have a bookmobile.”
I am wondering why my last three posts on Whiners Den haven’t appeared.
Yay, gas prices are lower. Now it costs us less to go to the grocery store where we pay outrageously high prices that trump say are the lowest ever. Affordability is a democratic hoax.
