FOREST CITY — Sharon Elaine Roberts, 78, whose life was rooted in family and the community of Leland, died peacefully October 20, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City.
Following her wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held. Burial of her cremated remains will take place in the spring at Forest Home Cemetery in Leland.
Born March 10, 1948, to Leonard and Frances (Nolte) Holland, Sharon grew up with three brothers, Allan, Ronnie and Larry. She spent most of her life in Leland, developing a lasting affection for the town and a deep knowledge of its history.
Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leland was part of her life from childhood. She was baptized there April 11, 1948, and confirmed April 7, 1963. As a young person, she took part in various church activities.
Sharon graduated from Forest City High School. Her working life included positions at CR’s Crafts and Farm Service, and she also operated a store called Rose of Sharon.
On November 21, 1981, she married Steve Roberts. Her family included two children, Anthony “TJ” and Shanna.
Sharon held the stories of her family and hometown close. Her knowledge of both made her a valued keeper of their history, while her generosity and loving nature left lasting impressions on those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; her children, Anthony “TJ” (Stacey) and Shanna; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers.
