Zoning changes remain under review; AI policy tabled
Durby reviewed his proposed amendment to the county zoning ordinance. Supervisors agreed to continue researching amendments concerning new technology.
The discussion follows earlier Winnebago County deliberations over solar projects, data centers, water supplies and development restrictions. The October 13 minutes do not record adoption of a zoning amendment or provide the text of Durby’s proposal.
A separate discussion regarding an AI policy was tabled.
Pavement projects finished for the year
County Engineer Scott Meinders discussed Secondary Roads matters and reported that pavement projects were done for the year.
The board also discussed the Fleener property. The minutes provide no further details or recorded action on that discussion.
Drainage Clerk Kris Oswald updated supervisors on drainage matters.
Other county business
Supervisors unanimously approved the Recorder’s quarterly report on a motion by Smith, seconded by Durby.
A resolution to create a new fund and a planned closed session were both tabled until the following week. The minutes do not identify the proposed fund’s purpose or the subject of the closed session.
The Auditor’s Office received three manure management plans for Winnebago County operations: Anderson #64136, Marcus Bruns #61601 and Marcus Finisher Farm #65605. The minutes record receipt of those plans but no board action on them.
