PLYMOUTH — A Northern Iowa home sustained heavy damage Wednesday evening when a fire broke out while nobody was home, drawing firefighters from several communities.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office said emergency crews responded to 600 Main Street East in Plymouth at approximately 7:12 p.m. September 23, 2026, following a report of a house fire.
Plymouth, Grafton and Manly fire departments responded, along with Mason City Fire EMS and sheriff’s deputies. Alliant Energy also assisted.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze without incident, according to the sheriff’s office. No injuries were reported, but the house sustained heavy fire damage.
Authorities have not announced what sparked the fire. The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
