MASON CITY — Drivers in Mason City are being urged to avoid part of 19th Street SW as road construction gets underway immediately and continues through the end of June.
The city said construction will take place on 19th Street SW beginning at the intersection with South Taft Avenue and extending west to the city limits, approximately one block west of South Eisenhower Avenue.
The work is being done for milling and overlay improvements in the area.
Drivers should expect delays. Traffic control will include flaggers and a pilot car during certain stages of the project, according to the Mason City Engineering Department.
City officials are asking motorists to avoid the area when possible and plan alternate routes while the work is underway.
