MASON CITY — Susan Kay Stallwood, 68, of Mason City, is being remembered after her passing on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Born Susan Kay Ahrens on April 25, 1958, near Grinnell, Iowa, she was the daughter of Jerry and Freda (Claybrook) Ahrens. Her early years were spent on the family farm, giving her a connection to rural Iowa that remained part of her life story.

MASON CITY — Susan Kay Stallwood, 68, of Mason City, is being remembered after her passing on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Born Susan Kay Ahrens on April 25, 1958, near Grinnell, Iowa, she was the daughter of Jerry and Freda (Claybrook) Ahrens. Her early years were spent on the family farm, giving her a connection to rural Iowa that remained part of her life story.

Susan’s family will honor her life privately.

She leaves behind family, friends and others who knew her through the many chapters of her life, from her beginnings near Grinnell to her years in Mason City.
