BAXTER, IOWA — An Iowa man has been arrested and charged with multiple felony counts of sexual abuse after authorities say he engaged in sex acts with a child over a period of several years in Jasper County.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in August 2025 after concerns were reported by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.
During the investigation, authorities said they determined that Kyle Lincoln Ward, 36, of Baxter, allegedly engaged in multiple sex acts with a child in the Baxter and Jasper County area between 2021 and 2025.
Ward (pictured at top) was arrested and booked into the Jasper County Jail at 8:01 a.m. on April 15, 2026.
Court records in State of Iowa vs. Kyle Lincoln Ward, case number 05501 FECR028288 in Jasper County, show Ward is charged with five counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree, each a Class B felony.

Court records show the case was created April 15, 2026. A cash bond was posted April 21, 2026, and an order modifying bail was filed April 20, 2026.

No disposition had been entered in the case, according to the court records provided. The suspect appears to be free on bond at this time.
